Well, hello there and HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Hasn’t this home tour been so fun?
If you’ve just come from Follow The Yellow Brick Home I bet your were wow’d by Amber’s gorgeous music room. Wouldn’t you just love to visit her home and hear the music there, especially for the holidays. I am the last one on the tour and I know it’s not “last the best of all the game” because I have been blown away by all the holiday inspiration and I don’t think I can measure up.
If your just starting here with my blog Welcome! This is “It’s a Wonderful Home Hop”. Huge kudos go out to Olivia of Reinvented Collection. She’s the amazing gal who put this blog hop together for us and I can’t imagine the time and effort she put into this for all of us to enjoy. I highly recommend that you start at the top of the list below, relax, grab some hot chocolate and soak in all the beautiful sites created by the other 18 bloggers. But first, here’s a look at my home.
Welcome to our southern country home.
Creating a comfortable and inviting home is very important to me. It’s our refuge and safe spot. I have a large family and I want it to be a place where both young and not so young would want to hang out. I would never want to have a house that anyone would be afraid to live and play in. So, that’s basically how I decorate; with my family, comfort, and enjoyment in mind.
Let’s start with our kitchen.
For many years my dream home had a nice large kitchen attached to a large enough space for my family. When we found this home it was exactly what I had pictured.
Here’s our dining area ready for a casual Christmas meal.
To me there’s nothing that says cozy, old fashioned Christmas more that plaid and buffalo check which I have plenty of.

Our living area is made of three couches. I find it much more comfortable and easy for conversation than a sectional.
To me this is the perfect setup for lots of family times together; one great big room.
For some reason I’m not totally sure of I’ve always had some red in my regular decor, but it makes it easy to add Christmas decorations to it.
Here’s our Christmas Tree.
More Christmas decor…..
Well, that just about covers it. Be sure to come back. I’m working on my front porch and the master bedroom for Christmas. Now, I need some ideas for this space. Santa made it in there, but that’s all. Any suggestions?

Here’s wishing you and yours an amazing Christmas holiday. Be sure to check out all the other homes below, too.
Be sure to go see all the great ideas of ways to add cotton stems to your decor. I love this Christmas tree idea.

Oh caramel apples! How I love you! I’ve been searching Pinterest for some caramel apple recipes and found some great ones that I thought I would share with you all. Fall and caramel apples just go hand in hand don’t you think? I’m getting itchy to make some.
Here’s a basic caramel recipe that looks divine from Tips From A Typical Mom
Fall is a season of change where we prepare to spend more time with our families, watch the weather get cooler, cozy up in our warm home, and enjoy the bounties of our labors.
Well, hello there! Welcome to my home! We’ve been pretty quiet around our blog this summer with all the activities going on and to be honest we just needed a small break to renew. I think it’s important to do that some times and now we are ready to share some fun new posts along with some exciting changes including a new look. We hope you stay tuned.
I am part of an amazing Fall Home Tour and am so grateful for Angelina of Peonies and Orange Blossoms for getting me off my backside, getting me ready for Fall and back on the blog. Be sure to read to the bottom to find links to the other awesome blogs participating.
It’s time again for our Upcycle Challenge! I have so much fun with this monthly project just because I get to see what everyone in the group has come up with. I’ve gotten so many ideas and my brain is swirling with inspiration from all the talented gals that are a part of this. Be sure to hop around to the different blogs and you will see what I mean.

This book!! Ladies I can’t say enough about it! I starting reading this book and got hooked immediately, but right in the middle of it, we moved into a new house. Life got crazy and I was dying to try and get some time to sit down and continue with the story. I even contemplated calling in sick to work one day to read. (I didn’t, but oh I wish I had!) FINALLY we got settled and I finished the book within a couple of days. I think my poor kids were sorely neglected during that time.
This book catches you first thing and holds on to you throughout the whole story. I fell in love with the characters and felt like we would be friends if they actually existed. In the story Olivia sets out on a journey to learn about her grandmother after her death and in the process finds herself when she didn’t even know she was lost. There is a mystery, love, hope, family secrets and forgiveness.
I love it when a story holds on to me after I have finished reading it, and guys… I can’t stop thinking about this story!
You know when you find the best book or a really great TV show that you just fall in love with and wish that you could go back in time and experience it all over again!? That is what I want to do with this story. It made me laugh and cry and left me wanting more!
Jen Atkinson is such a talented author and “Knowing Amelia” has my heart! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone of any age looking for a beautiful heartwarming story and you can bet I will be buying anything else she writes! You can follow her here if you’re interested.
If you don’t take my word for it here are some other reviews of “Knowing Amelia”

Keeping the kids entertained during the summer can be a job and a half don’t you think? And then there’s the worry that they are forgetting some of what they’ve learned during the school year. We’ve gathered some educational water ideas for some fun summer entertainment that will help solve both problems.
