Knowing Amelia

This book!! Ladies I can’t say enough about it! I starting reading this book and got hooked immediately, but right in the middle of it, we moved into a new house. Life got crazy and I was dying to try and get some time to sit down and continue with the story. I even contemplated calling in sick to work one day to read. (I didn’t, but oh I wish I had!) FINALLY we got settled and I finished the book within a couple of days. I think my poor kids were sorely neglected during that time.

This book catches you first thing and holds on to you throughout the whole story. I fell in love with the characters and felt like we would be friends if they actually existed. In the story Olivia sets out on a journey to learn about her grandmother after her death and in the process finds herself when she didn’t even know she was lost. There is a mystery, love, hope, family secrets and forgiveness.

I love it when a story holds on to me after I have finished reading it, and guys… I can’t stop thinking about this story!

You know when you find the best book or a really great TV show that you just fall in love with and wish that you could go back in time and experience it all over again!? That is what I want to do with this story. It made me laugh and cry and left me wanting more!

Jen Atkinson is such a talented author and “Knowing Amelia” has my heart! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone of any age looking for a beautiful heartwarming story and you can bet I will be buying anything else she writes! You can follow her here if you’re interested.

If you don’t take my word for it here are some other reviews of “Knowing Amelia”

  • Beautiful story that makes me want to write my own living history and get to know my grandparents better.
  • I formed an immediate connecting with the characters, which are genuine and relatable, and no one can write the sensitive heartthrob quite like Jen.
  • How do I know when a book is profound? When it leaves an indelible impression on my heart. It leaves me wanting more, to be a better person. It leaves me pondering the content for days, the moral and lesson learned long after the last page has been turned. Once again, author Jen Atkinson leaves her audience in awe. Knowing Amelia is one of the most thoughtful, moving books you’ll ever read. Throughout the journey of discovery, love, and hope, you will laugh, you will cry, and you’ll forever be changed. And you will know and love Amelia as if she was your very own.

“Simplify and Savor” Your Holidays

It’s always this time of year that I start feeling the stirrings of stress knowing that the holidays are just around the corner.  I tell myself that things are going to change the following year, but as I’m sure you can all relate, life gets busy and all our intentions of being better prepared and organized continues to be pushed off until the “following year”.  Not only that, I’m sad that I have been so tired in the past that I simply could not enjoy the spirit of the occasions.  Well, no more.  Seriously!

Connie Sokol, an author and public speaker whose focus is on helping women simplify their lives, has given me hope that my future celebrations will not only be better, but times I will look forward to, with her book, Simplify and Savor the Season.  I could not help but pass this hope and resource on to you, our readers.  Connie writes using her awesome sense of humor, experience as a wife and mother of seven, and the knowledge she’s gained through the trials of being a woman has given her.  Connie’s many books and articles are popular, heartfelt, and needed. I highly recommend them
