We are gearing up for our FIRST ANNIVERSARY here at Polka Dot Poplars on April 1st. We are going to announce some new features, giving away a few birthday presents, and sharing what we’ve enjoyed and learned from blogging.

New Project!
Hello Readers! This week I had planned an awesome tutorial about painting my daughters room, but I all of a sudden got a pinched nerve in my arm and now can barely move it! Let me tell you what, OUCH!! Maybe its the universe telling me to take it easy this week, so I have. I am hoping to show you guys next week what it looks like! (Fingers crossed!)
So this week I am sharing a sneak peek of a project my hubby will be making soon! My husband (who you will meet a little later) found this beauty for free!!!
Watch our video for a sneak peek!!

“Spring” Crafts
I love Spring and the newness of life it brings, the warmer weather, and the beauty it brings.
I also love creating fun new things and one of my new favorite things to use are old vintage bed springs as the base. You might remember the crows I made for Halloween here.
Table Scapes
I recently volunteered to decorate a table for my church’s women’s activity.
Can I just tell you how hard a time I had trying to decide what I wanted on the table!!
Holy crap there are SO many ideas and tons of inspiration out there! (What did we do without Pinterest!?)
Perhaps I’m Stronger Than I Thought
I think we all have in our minds and hearts a plan of how we want our lives to go. I know I did. I wanted more than anything to be married and have children. My second goal was to become a nurse, but it wasn’t as big of a goal as becoming a mother. I did go to nursing school and was close to being finished but during school I got married and pregnant and I quit school because I was going to be a MOTHER. I was thrilled.

A Gathering Of Delicious Coconut Recipes

I’ve always been a fan of coconut. I remember my dad buying whole coconuts at the grocery store, breaking it open, and giving all of us a piece to eat. I know for many it’s an acquired taste or many just don’t care for it. But, did you know it’s considered a SUPER FOOD? Coconut comes in many forms and I think everyone can find a form of it that they like. There is coconut oil, coconut milk, coconut flour, and plain old flaked coconut. I love it! One of my favorite’s is coconut gelato.
I’ve been gathering some recipes using this amazing food and wanted to share.
