I love Spring and the newness of life it brings, the warmer weather, and the beauty it brings.
I also love creating fun new things and one of my new favorite things to use are old vintage bed springs as the base. You might remember the crows I made for Halloween here.
I decided to do the same kind of idea for Spring and Easter. I found the springs at a local antique store for a few dollars. If you can’t find springs you could use a candle stick.
I purchased a cute bunny from the Dollar store and embellished it a bit. Using crepe paper I placed two pieces on top of each other and sewed a gathering stitch down the center, folded it in half, and then hot glued it around the bunnies neck.
I got the small paper mache bunny from JoAnn’s for 40% off. (Bonus!). I painted her brown like a chocolate bunny and added eyes. I made a gathered collar for this one, too.
For the wood bases I used wood circles you can find at any craft store. I painted them and added moss. Using a good adhesive glue attach the wood base to the spring. Let dry. Glue your bunny on the top of the wood piece amongst the moss.
At this point I continued to embellish with ribbon, eggs, flowers, etc.
Really, this is so very easy. Make sure you Facebook a picture on our page of the Spring and Easter projects you have made. We would love to see them.
Very cute! A great way to bring in the holiday! Thanks for coming over and sharing at The Weekend Retreat!!
