DIY Double Headboard

I know I’m a day late, but I had some internet issues, but its all good now so here I am!

I hope you all had a great weekend!

I am in the process of decorating my twin’s room.

They are actually the ones that came up to me wanting a “pretty room!”

How can I turn that down!?

So here is the first step to their pretty room!

I knew I wanted them to have a headboard and I saw some ideas on Pinterest (Thank goodness for that, right!?)

and I showed the twins some ideas and they liked the idea of 1 headboard for both of them, I thought I could totally do that!

We had some extra 2×4’s in the garage and we cut them to 84 inches long and so my husband and I put 7 of them together and added 3 braces to the back and screwed them all into those.

Then I white washed the wood, I wanted a little of the grain to show through the paint.

I mixed 1 part paint and 1 part water together.

We then added 3 heavy duty hooks to each brace.

(You will need the heaviest you can find cause this sucker is HEAVY!)

And that’s it!

It only took us a couple hours to put together and I have plans for a side table in the middle and lamps on both ends and something else on the wall above the headboard. I do love that picture but not for that space.  I will keep you posted when I put it all together!

I was thinking this would be a good king size headboard too!

and

Did I mention how awesome those engineer prints are from staples!!!
