No Sew Play Tent

OH MY GOSH it is freezing here in my small town, -4 degrees!!

I  really hope you are all staying warm wherever you are!

I don’t know about you guys but my kids make forts ALL THE DANG TIME!

and I know it’s a right of passage as a kid to make forts out of whatever you can find, but my OCD has a hard time with all the junk lying around.

So to help make me and my kids happy I made this!

I saw this on a friends picture and I thought I can totally make that!

And guys, I made it all by myself!

I usually have help with drilling and cutting and stuff, but this time I did it!

I purchased 2 8ft white trim boards from Home Depot and had them cut them in half at the store.

(ok I guess they did that part.)

Then got a 5/8 inch dowel for the middle.

I drilled the holes 5 inches down from the top of the board and put the dowel through, it did take a little hammering to get them through but it worked.

I then had this vintage twin size sheet that had been sitting in my basement for forever and it worked perfectly!  I didn’t have to take any of the length off, I just trimmed off some of the width to 38 inches.  Then I stapled it to the inside edges of the boards, it takes a little maneuvering to do this, just to warn you. 🙂

and

TA DA!

I thought they would make some pretty great Christmas Gifts for my girls. I plan on making 2 more so they can all have their own little hideout.

PS. They fold up really nicely to hide away in a closet when your littles aren’t using them! SCORE!
