Hi Everyone!
Have you ever heard of “May Day”? May 1st used to be a big deal many, many years ago and has a lot of history associated with it. It also used to be a major holiday for many countries and was quite a political event every year. Farmers were also known to celebrate May 1st as a time that most of their seeding was finished and to celebrate the blessing of having fertile ground. Now, it’s basically a celebration of Spring and showing your love for family and friends. I’ve been a fan of this day since I was very young.

I have been seeing floral crowns everywhere lately and I thought it was the cutest idea to try to do for my girls for Easter. They are so so easy to make and I ended up making three crowns for about $20 total. Not too shabby.
A few weeks ago we announced that we would be starting a new series called “If I Had A Blog”. For our first post in this series we are thrilled to have Kristi. She is Brittany’s Sister In Law and a great family friend. We knew we would be asking her to guest post because she is so talented and crafty. Take it away Kristi.
Hello there! I am so excited to be guest posting today on Polka Dot Poplars. My name is Kristi and I am a stay-at-home mom of four beautiful children! I’m always looking for something crafty to do.
Chalkboard art has become quite popular lately. I’ve never been an artist or taken art classes, but this interested me and I saw so many cute ideas on Pinterest, I decided to try it out!
I received this box in the mail several weeks ago and haven’t had a chance to review it until now with all our birthday celebration activities. Now, I am wondering why I waited so long. I AM VERY IMPRESSED. This box was full of all kinds of local Utah goodies ($65 worth). It was like opening a present and I love presents.
I don’t make banana bread very often. I don’t know why because it’s sooooo easy. When I do make it it doesn’t last long and I’m partially to blame. I’ve put together a recipe that I think is a big hit.
I just have to say that I did not come up with this idea. I saw this on Vintage Revivals and I fell in love with it!!! I decided to do it in my girls room and now that it is done I REALLY want to do it all over my home, but I don’t think my hubby with be down with that. 🙂
I am so excited about today’s giveaway for tickets to the BYU Women’s Conference! If you have never been to the conference before, I will tell you all about it and hopefully you will understand why it is something that should be on your to-do list. If you have already been to the conference, you know exactly what I am talking about! The giveaway will be at the end if you are just too excited to read about it!
We are thrilled to be a part of a new Easter initiative by the LDS Church to help spread, through social media, a new devotional series focusing on having Christ in our lives and focusing on our salvation made possible by his resurrection. This is something new for the church and is very exciting.
The first campaign, Because Of Him, includes a short video and then several pictures that we will post on our social media every day this week that will help remind us all what is possible in our lives because of Jesus Christ.
