Banana Bread

I don’t make banana bread very often.  I don’t know why because it’s sooooo easy.   When I do make it it doesn’t last long and I’m partially to blame.  I’ve put together a recipe that I think is a big hit.

BANANA BREAD

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Lightly grease or spray a 9″x5″ loaf pan.

Ingredients

2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup sour cream
2 overripe bananas, mashed

Combine flour, soda, and salt.  Set aside.  Cream together the butter and brown sugar.  Add eggs, sour cream, and bananas.  Mix well.  Pour into loaf pan and bake for approximately 1 hour 5 minutes.  Check to make sure the middle is done by inserting a butter knife in the middle.  If it comes out clean it’s done.

If you’d like you can add 1 cup of chopped walnuts before baking.

Dru About Dru

There are so many things I could say but I will just start with the basics. Mother to 4. Grandmother to 11 (Yes, 11. All under the age of 9.) I am a former Army wife and we spent 15 years traveling around the world. It was such a thrill to have seen so many places and meeting lifetime friends. I spent many years working in the craft industry and love getting together with friends and creating. I have a lifelong love of thrift shops, antiques, and yard sales.
