Christmas Cider

Christmas Drink

Oh how I love this recipe. I think it’s the feel, taste, and warmth of Christmas combined altogether in a drink. And wouldn’t it be fun to serve them in any of these mugs. (Click on image to purchase.)

Chicken Noodle Soup

Soup, especially during the colder months are a must. I love curling up with a delicious, warm bowl of any kind of soup, but this chunky, chicken noodle soup is one of my favorites. It’s also perfect when you’re not feeling well.

Unique Stocking Stuffer Ideas

Usually I don’t put a huge amount of thought into stocking stuffers, do you? Candy, socks, small toys, etc. are about as far as I’ve gone. Here are some unique ideas that are easy to do but will be more memorable than a new toothbrush.

Online Christmas Fun

Our Christmas Countdown 2014 continues. Whew! Only 9 more days!

Can you imagine where we would be right now if we didn’t have computers or our many electronic devices? I grew up with not much more than a TV, radio, and telephone and I was fine, but I love the ability we have now to communicate in seconds, educate ourselves in a whole new way, and share our ideas. While I still love a homemade Christmas it’s fun to supplement it with online fun especially when it’s free.

A few years ago we discovered Portable North Pole. I’m sure most of you know about this site, but just in case you don’t here’s a little about it.

A Glimpse At Our Christmas Decor

I have been so inspired by the Holiday Home Tours I have been seeing all over the web. There truly are some amazing and talented decorators out there and it’s fun to sit in the comfort of my own home and see all the lovely decorating. If you’d like to see an awesome home tour series go here to see Jennifer Rizzo’s annual home tour. Another part of her home tour is the link party where others can post photos of their homes. So, there is a ton of eye candy all in one place.

Using Everyday Items For Christmas Decorating

There’s only 12 more days until Christmas. This is the time I get really excited.

You probably have most of your Christmas decorating done by now. But, if you haven’t and need some ideas I thought I would share some ideas of ways I pulled items from my home and storage to add to my decor.

Happy Holidays Everyone!  I’m Dru and I blog with my three daughters over at Polka Dot Poplars.  I’m thrilled to be a part of Design Dazzle’s Christmas Wonderful.  I’m beyond impressed by all the ideas shared so far and know I will be using quite of few of them.

I love creating and painting on wood.  One fun thing I like doing is seeing what kinds of things I can make from wood turnings found at your local craft stores like tongue depressor sticks, stars, dowels, etc.  Have you ever put a bunch of popsicle sticks in front of a group of kids?  Their imagination just takes off.

Christmas Picture Collage

Christmas Countdown Day 10….

Ha! I love looking at our old photos we have used in our annual Christmas letter. Where does the time go? I thought it would be fun to frame them and hang them up for Christmas. I want to bring good memories in our home especially around Christmas.

I grabbed some frames at the thrift store in the sizes I needed.

I took the glass out and painted them red. After cleaning the glass I framed all my photos and put them on the wall in a collage. I love it. I could stand and look at them for hours. They take me back in time to so many good memories.
