When the weather starts getting cooler in the Fall I start thinking about the comfort food and hot recipes I normally make during the cold months. Swiss Steak is one of those. This is a pretty quick and easy recipe that you can throw into the slow cooker.


- 2 lbs. Cube Steak, cut in half
- 1/2 Cup Oil
- 3/4 Cup Flour
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 1/2 tsp. Pepper
- 16 oz. Can of Tomato Sauce
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
- 2 Tbl. Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp. Onion Powder
- Salt & Pepper, to taste
- 1/2 Onion, diced
- 2 Celery Stalks, sliced
- 1/2 Green Pepper, diced
- 4 oz. Can Sliced Mushrooms (optional)
- Heat oil in a fry pan on medium heat.
- Combine flour, salt, and pepper.
- Bread both sides of cube steaks and brown in oil. Place into a slow cooker.
- Combine remaining ingredients and pour over steaks.
- Cover and cook on highest temperature for four hours.
- Serve over mashed potatoes.
