My twins had their birthday celebration at school the other day and they needed to bring a treat to share with the class.
Well somewhere I heard that teachers hate it when you bring in cupcakes, because they cause such a huge mess. Well, just in case that was true I came up with a treat that was so yummy and so easy to make!
Ingredients:
1 C. butter
1 C. sugar
1 bag small marshmallows
2 bags microwave popcorn
Directions:
Pop your popcorn as directed and remove any kernals that may have not popped. Melt butter in medium saucepan and then add the sugar and stir until it dissolves. Add the marshmallows and mix until they are all melted. Add the sauce to your popcorn and mix until it is well coated. Now to make your balls, you are going to want to liberally smear some butter on your hands and I mean liberally! Then take a handful of the popcorn mixture and press into a ball. That’s it! This recipe make about 25 balls.
I added my balls to some cupcake liners to make it easier to serve and just to make it fun I added a caramel apple stick in the middle and then sprinkled some sprinkles on top. The kids thought it was so cool!
This recipe can be altered in so many ways! I was thinking you could add drizzled chocolate on top or roll them in some crushed nuts or chocolate chips or add food coloring to the mixture to make them different colors. The possibilities are endless with these beauties.
I hope you Enjoy!
Thanks! I’m excited to try this! I love how easy it sounds 🙂
