Home Is Where Your Heart Is

As a family we have had the opportunity to travel to amazing places while my husband was serving in the Army.  I know that if it weren’t for the military we wouldn’t have had been able to see all the places we’ve seen or met the incredible people we have.

I’ve been wanting to create a wall map that shows all the great places we’ve lived.

Today I want to share with you one of my favorite items to decorate my home with.   Have you ever heard of a cloche?  It’s a French word meaning “bell” and these amazing pieces were originally used to cover outdoor plants in the cold weather.  Today you see them used more inside to cover plants or to display a fun arrangement underneath.

Using Mirrors To Brighten A Room

I had always learned that lighting is important in home decor and figured all I needed were some lamps and to open the curtains. I soon learned that some times that doesn’t always work. I live in an area that has tons of trees which keeps the light dim in our home. I would bet that many of you have a room or two in your home with the same problem, whether it’s a dim basement or a room that doesn’t get any sunshine.

Did you know mirrors can help lighting up a room?

I recently found this old broken stool in a dumpster and this awesome large basket at a yard sale.
