Gingerbread Crisps and Hot Chocolate Bar

I have a little nook/desk in my home that never gets used.  I’ve been wanting to set up a hot chocolate bar for the holidays and decided the nook would be the perfect place.  It’s not in the way, but close to the kitchen for easy access.  I’m thrilled with how it turned out.  I think any small table or shelf would work perfectly, too.

Feed The Birds

DAY THREE OF CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN….

I’m so enjoying this series of posts.  It gives me a little extra motivation to accomplish the little extra things I’ve always wanted to do.  Making this bird feeder is one of them.  Here’s a fun activity that the whole family will enjoy.  I love being able to sit inside my warm house and watch out the window as a bird fills his tummy.

Smells Of Christmas

It’s Day Two of our Christmas Countdown.  We are having a blast!  Christmas has always been my favorite.  I especially love the reason we celebrate this day, but it’s also that Christmas touches every sense we have.  It envelops our whole body.  There is so much beauty to be seen with the lights and decor, listening to incredible music we save for just this time of year, the touch of a hug from all we meet, tasty food and treats, and then there’s the smells….Oh the smells.  The scents of pine, spice, and orange are my favorites and brings back so many memories.

I remember the first time I made an orange and clove pomander in elementary school.  The smells in the classroom were so good.

Flocked Ribbon Ideas

Hi Everyone!  Welcome to our Christmas Countdown!  The next 25 days will be full of ideas and fun on our blog.  We are so excited you are here.

In the past I have not been a fan of the old fashioned flocked ribbon.  I think it’s because it is only one sided, seamed cheap looking, and is stiff.  I decided to give it another try.  You know what?  I kind of like (love) it now.  I love the look of velvet and flocked ribbon is a close second.  It’s very inexpensive, which is a bonus, and easy to find.

Here are some ways I have used it to embellish presents.  I love the look of Kraft and red together.  It feels so natural and Kraft paper is so inexpensive and versatile.  For smaller gifts I use painter’s paper found in hardware stores because it’s thinner and easier to use.  I’m also loving the new My Mind’s Eye Joyous line.  I used several items to help embellish my packages.
