Hi Everyone. It’s almost the weekend. Do you have any fun plans?
First, I have to tell you about this yummy dessert. I have decided to buy something new each time I go grocery shopping because I feel like I have gotten stuck in a rut buying the same things over and over. I’m even trying new recipes. This week I purchased this item. I love Creme Brulee and saw this, tried it out, and it’s delicious. Pretty close to the real thing. Give it a shot. I’ll keep you posted of any new items or recipes I find to be yummy.
I was thinking about pulling out my fall decor and decided I was tired of the door wreath I have been putting up for the last several years. So, I came up with something a little different for my door.
There are some beautiful round wreaths posted on Pinterest, but I wondered what other looks were out there. This is what I found:
If you’d like to know how I made my fall banner here are the steps:
I gathered my supplies. I purchased some wood beads and spools at the craft store and painted them in some fun fall colors. I already had the burlap, mesh, and wire.
I found some cute paper at the scrapbook store in the colors I was using and cut them into strips. I then adhered pieces of the paper around the spools.
Then I strung the beads and spools randomly onto jute string. I made two strings of them.
I love seeing all the colors together. I would be happy with just this, but I kept going.
I painted some pennant plaques I found at “The Wood Connection” and then traced around the plaque onto my scrapbook paper. I then Mod Podged the paper onto the plaque and added some chipboard letters painted brown. I also antiqued around the edges of the paper with a brown stamp pad.
I made some burlap and mesh banners just for a background behind the beads. I used a zig zag stitch and attached the pieces onto the jute.
I layered all the pieces together starting with the orange mesh banner and then put the burlap banner on top of that. I then topped those off with the beads and tied all the jute pieces together. I placed wire through the “FALL” plaque holes and attached them to the bottom row of beads. For a fun touch I made tassels for each end by combining pieces of burlap and fabric together and cutting them into strips and wrapping jute around the top to hold them together. I simply hot glued them to the ends.
To hang I used 3M Command Hooks on each side of the door.
That’s it.
I would love to see your Fall decor. I want to do some new things inside my house, too, and need ideas.
