Welcome to our Christmas home tour 2018. I’m so excited for Christmas this year. There are years where I’m just not feeling it. Does that ever happen to you? I am always inspired by seeing how others decorate their homes for Christmas and I hope I can give you some ideas and inspiration.
I live in a cabin like farmhouse in the south that we moved to two and half years ago. Living in the country has been a dream of mine for a long time and I’m so happy we live here. I’m so happy to have you join me in our home. Welcome!
As you enter the front door you come into a large great room. My grand kids call it the gym. I have a large family and having a large family room attached to an open kitchen was top of my list when looking for a home.
I always like have treats and drinks for everyone who visits. Help yourself. 🙂
While we’re in the kitchen let me show you around. I’ve never had so much storage and thrilled that I can be cooking a meal and enjoy my family at the same time.
Our dining room is close by and visually divides the room, but still leaves it open.
I’ve got a buffet and some shelves in this area, as well. I love the look of open shelving and it creates a “hutch” look. I prettied up the area with some of my favorite Christmas items including my old red toy truck.
Close by I have a dough bowl with greenery and an old antique bible opened to Luke 2, the story of Christ’s birth.
I’ve got an old maple table that I can use if we have large groups next to our main table. I set it up with a Christmas scene that makes me happy.
We grouped some couches together to make a big pit to snuggle up with each other and talk and enjoy each other’s company.
We’ve placed our Christmas trees in the corner and sitting in this area with my family is so fun cuddling next to the fire.
On the mantel I lined up my group of wood houses and businesses that I’ve had for years.
Behind the trees I’ve set up some really great signs, old posts, and an arrow.
On the other side of the room is an old dresser topped with a bunch of small trees for a “tree farm”.
I’ve even added some Christmas decor to the bathrooms.
I’m so happy with the cozy atmosphere my Christmas decor creates. That’s my goal when decorating; creating a space where everyone feels comfortable and can put their feet up and relax.
I hope you’ve enjoyed your visit.
I would love for you to pin this for me.
