Buttermilk Pancakes with Buttermilk Syrup

Oh man! These buttermilk pancakes taste as good as they look! I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love a big stack of yummy pancakes and this recipe is so good, especially the buttermilk syrup!

  2. 2 cups flour
  3. 2 tsp. baking powder
  4. 1 tsp. baking soda
  5. 1/2 tsp. salt
  6. 3 Tbl. sugar
  7. 3 cups buttermilk
  8. 4 Tbl. melted butter
  10. 1/2 cup butter
  11. 3/4 cup sugar
  12. 1/2 cup buttermilk
  13. 1 tsp. baking soda
  14. 1 tsp. vanilla
  1. In a large bowl sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
  2. Whisk in the eggs, buttermilk, and melted butter.
  3. Heat your griddle to a medium high heat and cook your pancakes until they are golden brown on both sides.
  4. To make syrup: Combine butter, sugar and buttermilk in a medium saucepan over medium heat until sugar completely dissolves.
  5. Then remove from heat and add baking soda and vanilla. Stir to combine. Syrup will foam up; don't be alarmed! Its supposed to happen and it is AMAZING!
  6. Drizzle your pancakes with syrup and enjoy! Let me know what you think!
