Homemade Pearsauce

Its almost Fall everybody!!!!

I am really over summer and how hot its been. My girls started school last week and so far are really loving their teachers and this year they decided to be in separate classes. Gotta confess I was so nervous for them, I mean they have NEVER been away from each other for that long! EVER! but they did awesome and me being the overprotective mom that I am had nothing to worry about.

Look how cute they are!

hehehe I had to sneak in a pic of my little man, cause he is wearing a bow tie! I love it!

Anyways, enough about me. Here is the real reason I am posting.

Now I am not trying to make this into a recipe blog, but I had to share this yummy pearsauce I made cause its the season!

I was given a 25 pound box of pears and I thought about canning them quartered, but I just canned a whole box of peaches and I wanted to try something new. My family loves applesauce so I thought why not try pearsauce!?

First I peeled, cored and chopped up all my pears.

Then I put them in my crockpot and sprinkled some cinnamon over the top.

I let them cook on low for 12 hours or until they were easy to mush up. I used my potato masher, but I know you can use an immersion blender or put your mixture in a food processor or blender to make it smoother. I like mine chunky so I stuck with my masher.

My 25 pound box made 4 quarts of pearsauce. I filled up 4 jars and put them in a water bath for 25 minutes. They sealed up tight and now my girls will have a yummy snack or I was thinking of using it in my oatmeal, too. My Chloe had the last little bit from my pot and she LOVED it warm.  She said it made her tummy happy. Plus, it made my house smell so YUMMY!

Bring on the colder weather!
