Just like so many others I’m a huge fan of farmhouse signs. They are so simple, but yet pack a punch when decorating in a farmhouse style. I also really like the way people are making wall hangings and wreaths with embroidery hoops that are so popular right now. I decided to combine the two ideas and create a round sign and make an embroidery hoop frame. Turned out to be so easy and I love the results.
Here’s what I did.
Embroidery Hoop Frame Supplies

- Two 14 inch embroidery hoops
- 14″ wood circle
- Print (I had Office Depot print mine on a 16×20″ cardstock.)
- Stain (I used Minwax Walnut)
- Spray Adhesive
- Wood Glue
Embroidery Hoop Frame Directions
- Separate the hoops into two pieces. I used the pieces without the screw.
- Using one of the hoops as a template draw a circle around the saying on the print. Be sure to center the image.
- Cut the circle out.
- Stain all sides of the embroidery hoop rings.
- Glue the rings together with the wood glue. Place heavy objects on top of the rings so they attach firmly and let dry.
- Spray the back of the cardstock and the top of the wood circle with spray adhesive.
- Attached the cardstock to the wood piece and press smooth. Let dry.
- When both pieces are dry glue the embroidery hoop frame on top of the round sign. Again, weigh down and let dry.
That’s it. I love it. This is one of my favorite sayings and I’ve been wanting to make a sign with it for so long so I can see it each day to remind us to always stay humble and kind. What are your favorite sayings that would make great signs? If you’d like to use mine here’s a free printable.
