Here’s a fun Father’s Day gift idea that all kids would love to make for the special men in their lives, an air freshener. Don’t you think every man needs one? Here’s how we made ours.

Father’s Day Air Freshener Supplies

  • variety of wood pieces
  • wood glue
  • twine
  • essential oil
  • paint brush

Father’s Day Air Freshener Instructions

  • Have the kids glue their wood pieces together in whatever shape they would like. Let dry.

  • Pour a few drops of essential oil onto a paper plate and let they brush the oil onto the piece. Let dry.

  • Punch or drill a hole at the top and tie the string through the hole.

  • Take pictures of their sweet faces when their special dads open their gift.

Some additional ideas:

  • Paint your wood pieces with water colors, markers, or food coloring to add more color. I don’t suggest acrylics, oils, or crayons because the oil will not soak into the wood.
  • Single wood pieces also make great air fresheners. No need to always use multiple pieces.
  • For wood pieces that need holes use a drill or heavy duty hole punch.
  • The best thing is that you can continue to apply the oil when the scent fades.

Have fun!

If you liked this would you pin it for us?

Dru About Dru

There are so many things I could say but I will just start with the basics. Mother to 4. Grandmother to 11 (Yes, 11. All under the age of 9.) I am a former Army wife and we spent 15 years traveling around the world. It was such a thrill to have seen so many places and meeting lifetime friends. I spent many years working in the craft industry and love getting together with friends and creating. I have a lifelong love of thrift shops, antiques, and yard sales.
