It’s Day 11 and we have been in the kitchen making something sweet to share!
I love the idea behind a sugar cookie decorating kit for a Christmas gift because it can be personalized, is a food that everyone enjoys, and was made by you. Once you’ve made your cookies it’s really pretty easy to put together.
Here’s how I made mine:
Sugar Cookie Decorating Kit Supplies
- Your favorite sugar cookie recipe and ingredients. Here’s my favorite recipe. It’s not too sweet and stays soft.
Sugar Cookie and Buttercream Frosting Recipes
- Your favorite buttercream frosting recipe and ingredients.
- Food Coloring
- Disposable Storage Containers
- Mini Cups With Lids (I found mine near the paper cups at Walmart.)
- Christmas Sprinkles
- Plastic Knives
- Windowed Cake Box (Found at Walmart in Cake Decorating Department.)
- Christmas Tissue Paper
- Napkins
- Ribbons
- Gift Tag
- Candy
Sugar Cookie Decorating Instructions
- Make sugar cookies according to directions.
- Make frosting according to directions. Divide into four separate bowls and color each with food coloring.
- Fold the cake box and line with tissue paper.
- Add a different color of frosting to four different storage containers and tightly cap with the lids. Place in the box.
- Place sprinkles in the mini containers and add lids. I provided three different kinds.
- Add napkins and plastic knives
- Carefully place your baked sugar cookies into the box next to the other supplies.
- Top with candy canes and other treats.
- Cover the box with the lid, tie a bow around the box and add a tag.
That’s it. I love the excitement I get when gifting these. You will, too.
