Snow Ice Cream

I love this cute idea from One Krieger Chick.

SNOW-Better-Neighbor-gift1

I participated with her in the craft competition “So You Think You’re Crafty”.

She is so creative.

With a foot or so of snow in my front yard

I was reminded of the “Snow Ice Cream” my grandmother used to make us.

It’s a fond memory of mine during the winter months.

It’s super duper easy and so yummy.

Combine 2 cups of whole milk or half and half with

1 cup of sugar and 2 tsp. of vanilla.

Stir until the sugar is dissolved and add it to 1 gallon of fresh (clean) snow.

Such an old fashioned delicious treat!

I’ve also seen the following recipe but have never tried it.

One 14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk

1 tsp. of vanilla

2 quarts of fresh snow

Combine together.

Chocolate syrup can be added to make it chocolate flavored.

****Check back tomorrow for an update on the recipe contest I was in and to see the winners of the two $25 gift cards.****

Dru About Dru

There are so many things I could say but I will just start with the basics. Mother to 4. Grandmother to 11 (Yes, 11. All under the age of 9.) I am a former Army wife and we spent 15 years traveling around the world. It was such a thrill to have seen so many places and meeting lifetime friends. I spent many years working in the craft industry and love getting together with friends and creating. I have a lifelong love of thrift shops, antiques, and yard sales.

  1. Okay, snow cream, huh? The mere thought transports me back to childhood! Using fresh snow sounds like a gamble these days, I must admit. This reminds me of when I attempted a fancy layered dessert for a party once, Slope Unblocked and things went south fast because I didn’t properly account for the different freezing times of each layer. It ended up a melty mess, but everyone laughed (eventually). I’m definitely intrigued by both recipes!

  2. Wordle Unlimited is an engaging word puzzle game that allows players to unleash their inner linguists while competing against themselves or others in a fun, pressure-free environment. The game’s concept builds on the original Wordle success, permitting players to engage in endless rounds of word-guessing challenges without the constraints typically associated with time-limited turns.
