Do you have an old dresser that you’re not using or are looking to give a face lift? How about just giving the drawers a new use.
I found these drawers sitting on the side of the road just waiting to be picked up and loved. I don’t know what happened to the body of the dresser but I didn’t care because I’ve been wanting to make some storage bins out of drawers but didn’t have any and had been looking for some.
I started by filling in the holes with putty and sanding the old paint to rough it up a little. It’s important to lightly sand if you want your primer and paint to adhere.
I then primed with a Krylon spray primer made for wood and let dry.
I then painted the drawer with a Krylon spray paint in a cream color. When dry I sanded the edges to add some character, added a handle, and attached wheels or legs to the bottom.
The drawers with the wheels are going to be great storage for under a bed, to be rolled around for kid’s toys, or for anything you can imagine. The drawer with the legs would make a great dog bed, a planter, or to add a unique piece to any room.
How about adding some wall paper or scrapbook paper to the front with Mod Podge or add a vinyl word or number. There are so many possibilities.
