Simple Easter Bunny Craft Instructions
- Stain the chalkboard frame in a stain or wax. I used the Americana Decor Creme Wax from DecoArt. Once it’s dry I sanded mine to give it a worn look.
- While frame is drying trace around the wood bunny on the piece of felt. Cut out. I used felt to give the bunny a soft fuzzy look.
- Coat your wood piece heavily with the Mod Podge and foam brush. Apply the felt cutout over the decoupage and smooth out. Turn the piece over on a flat surface and let dry.
- To make the tail I ripped 1/2 inch pieces of muslin into strips.
- The tail is made like a yarn pom pom. Wrap the muslin strips around and around your three fingers like this.
- Continue to wrap each piece around your fingers until you have a pretty thick bunch. Remove from your fingers and tie another piece of muslin tightly around the center and knot.
- Cut the loops. Trim and arrange the pieces into a round pom pom shape and hot glue to the bunny.
- Embellish the bunny’s neck with ribbon and flowers.
- Attach the bunny to the chalkboard with wood glue. Let dry.
That’s it. I love the rustic and vintage look of this piece. Another great thing is that it can be made in any color of felt and you can paint the frame the color you want to make it your own. You could also decoupage paper to the chalkboard and create a pretty backdrop for the bunny. The options are endless.
