Pallet Wood Wall Decor
I’ve been holding on to this pallet wood sign for months now not knowing what I wanted to do with it. It caught my eye at the thrift store because it was so rustic and you know I love rustic farmhouse things. It cost $5.
Recently, I started thinking about spring decor and what I wanted to do with my front porch for the new season. I then remembered this sign and thought it would make a cute wall planter. Back to the thrift store I went looking for a basket or something I could put flowers into and attach to this pallet wood sign. I found the perfect thing, a metal bucket! It can’t be more perfect.
Pallet Wood Wall Decor Directions
The first thing I did was decide how I wanted to paint this pallet wood sign. I wanted a little more than just painting it all one color so stripes it was. I went to my stash of paint and found some samples that I had purchased at Lowe’s in the mis-tint clearance area. Perfect! I used a grey and a cream.
I applied two coats in each color, let dry and sanded the piece to create a more rustic look. I also added some cream paint to the bucket to add some interest.
To hang I attached screws to the back and then strung heavy wire around them.
Now, all that was left was to screw in a hook on the front to hang the bucket, add some flowers I got at Hobby Lobby for 50% off and I was done.
I’m thrilled with how it turned out. It’s always so great when a project turns out better than you imagined. And, wow, was it easy. I like easy.
To make your own pallet board sign simply cut fence board or pallet board into the lengths you would like. Line them up together and nail two cross pieces on the back to hold the pieces together.
