This week my baby turned 2 months old!
I know everyone asks this but,
WHERE IS THE TIME GOING!?
Its a little bittersweet to see your last baby growing so fast, I want him to stay little forever,
but at the same time sleeping through the night would be awesome!
(Don’t mind my hubby in the Hawaiian shirt, I promise he has better taste in clothes!)
So in the spirit of wanting to remember your babies or really anything that is meaningful to you
I made a memory jar.
My baby Oli was in the NICU for 9 days and while he was in there he had a lot going on. I wanted to keep more then just his going home outfit and I am not so much a fan of shadow boxes so I thought a jar would be perfect, kind of a 360 degree display.
All you need to do is get a big glass jar with a lid, I got mine at Walmart for $7.00.
Then fill it up with what is meaningful to you. I was thinking it didn’t have to be a baby jar, it could be a way to remember your vacation!
How cute would it be to have a whole shelf of these jars filled with sand and seashells, postcards and those little figurines you buy but don’t do anything with once your home.
It could be a way to remember a lost loved one or your graduation day. Really it can be anything!!
I filled mine up with his blessing and going home outfit, his oxygen tube and biliruben mask, and then all his name cards and wrist bands, the size of diaper he was in, and, of course, his footprints.
If you end up making one I hope you come back and share what you did!
