Well, hello there and HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Hasn’t this home tour been so fun?

If you’ve just come from Follow The Yellow Brick Home I bet your were wow’d by Amber’s gorgeous music room. Wouldn’t you just love to visit her home and hear the music there, especially for the holidays. I am the last one on the tour and I know it’s not “last the best of all the game” because I have been blown away by all the holiday inspiration and I don’t think I can measure up.

If your just starting here with my blog Welcome! This is “It’s a Wonderful Home Hop”. Huge kudos go out to Olivia of Reinvented Collection. She’s the amazing gal who put this blog hop together for us and I can’t imagine the time and effort she put into this for all of us to enjoy. I highly recommend that you start at the top of the list below, relax, grab some hot chocolate and soak in all the beautiful sites created by the other 18 bloggers. But first, here’s a look at my home.

My Christmas Home Tour

Welcome to our southern country home.

Double Front Doors

Creating a comfortable and inviting home is very important to me. It’s our refuge and safe spot. I have a large family and I want it to be a place where both young and not so young would want to hang out. I would never want to have a house that anyone would be afraid to live and play in. So, that’s basically how I decorate; with my family, comfort, and enjoyment in mind.

Let’s start with our kitchen.

Country Kitchen

For many years my dream home had a nice large kitchen attached to a large enough space for my family. When we found this home it was exactly what I had pictured.

Here’s our dining area ready for a casual Christmas meal.

Dining Room

To me there’s nothing that says cozy, old fashioned Christmas more that plaid and buffalo check which I have plenty of.

Deer Christmas Table

Our living area is made of three couches. I find it much more comfortable and easy for conversation than a sectional.

To me this is the perfect setup for lots of family times together; one great big room.

Red accessories

For some reason I’m not totally sure of I’ve always had some red in my decor, but it makes it easy to add Christmas decorations to it.

Here’s our Christmas Tree.

Well, that just about covers it. Be sure to come back. I’m working on my front porch and the master bedroom for Christmas. Now, I need some ideas for this space. Santa made it in there, but that’s all. Any suggestions?

Here’s wishing you and yours an amazing Christmas holiday. Be sure to check out all the other homes below, too.

Dru About Dru

There are so many things I could say but I will just start with the basics. Mother to 4. Grandmother to 11 (Yes, 11. All under the age of 9.) I am a former Army wife and we spent 15 years traveling around the world. It was such a thrill to have seen so many places and meeting lifetime friends. I spent many years working in the craft industry and love getting together with friends and creating. I have a lifelong love of thrift shops, antiques, and yard sales.

Comments

  1. I love the style of your country home. It looks so comfortable and inviting and must be a great space to spend time with your family. Your decorations looks so pretty for Christmas and I can imagine that they look even more so in person. It’s been fun touring so many pretty homes this week!

    • Thank you so much Paula. I’m so late with thank you’s. I really enjoy our home. It’s been a long time in coming.

  2. Your home is certainly the haven you want to create for your family. Its so large and comfortable and pretty. I love all the little touches of Christmas you have throughout your home. My favorite is your tablescape, especially with the mason jar glasses. I had three boys on a serious budget so they grey up using sturdy I dare you to break these mason jars. They made me happy to see them, somehow they say cozy home to me. Beautiful home for the holidays, thank you for sharing it with us.

    • Leanna, thanks so much for your sweet comments. I understand the “budget” situation. We worked hard to get our “dream home”; it’s brought us so much joy. Merry Christmas to you.

  3. Hi Dru…You have such a cozy and comfortable looking home. Your family must love to gather here! I love all of the buffalo check and plaid. So pretty!

  4. I love your cozy and festive home

  5. Your home looks so cozy and peaceful! I can imagine myself there taking a Christmas retreat!!! So pretty!

  6. I love your Christmas style! I love your big tree and I really love how you decorated your mantel!

  7. Love the pops of red in your home. It looks so cozy!

  8. Oh wow! I love your home and all of your fun Christmas decor! You have some dark woodwork like mine! I really love the layout of your home, so open and wonderful for entertaining. The plaid tablescape is awesome too. Thank you for your kind words about my tour. I hope you have a Merry Christmas!

    • Thanks Amber. I’m so late with my thank you’s. So sorry. Your comments are so sweet. We bought the home with the woodwork and I’ve debated about painting it, but I’m not sure. It adds to the coziness.
