Now that the holidays are over and I have taken all my Christmas down my house is looking back to normal. I don’t usually go overboard on decorating for the holidays, Christmas is the exception, of course. I’m a very minimalist decorator and not really into all the clutter, so for Valentines I wanted something that fits into my decor. Nothing fru fru ya know!
I had this vision in my mind and it came together so great! (I love it when that happens!) PLUS, it only took me 15 minutes to put together! Including painting!
VALENTINE WREATH SUPPLIES
14″ Embroidery Hoop (You can find them here.)
Two 1/4″ dowel pieces cut into 18″ lengths
Metallic Paint (I used a champagne color)
Paint Brush
Scissors
Strong Adhesive Glue (I used Gorilla Glue)
VALENTINE WREATH INSTRUCTIONS:
- First, I painted the inside hoop from the hoop set. I wanted the full circle without the clasp at the top.
- Then I cut one dowel in half (18″) and painted those, too.
- While those were drying I cut out 2 arrow tips and 2 tails. I just hand drew those and cut them out.
- I also cut out a heart shape about 3 inches across.
- When the paint was dry I attached an arrow tip and tail to each dowel with the glue and then crossed them on the circle until I was happy with the look. I glued them in place.
- I then glued on the heart where the two arrows cross and that’s it!
- I attached my wreath to a chalk board I have on my entry way table and I love it. I love it so much I may just leave it up all year!
